Unity Practices:
If any of our passenger lifts are faulty, this could cause serious
injury or even death in the worst case scenario. To ensure our
passenger lifts are operating as safely as possible we:
- Carry out a 6 monthly health and safety inspection of the lift.
- Undertake quarterly services to comply with the
manufacturers recommendations.
How long will you have to wait?
If your lift breaks down, we treat it as an emergency. That means one of our contractors should get there within 4 hours. The only exception is if we get the call late, in which case our out-of-hours contractors might take a bit longer to arrive (we’ll still aim for 4 hours though).
And if the lift breaks down with someone in it, we’ll do out best to get there within an hour. (Again, if the call comes outside of work hours, it might take a bit longer, but we’ll still aim for under an hour.)
What should I do if I get trapped in a lift?
All our lifts are fitted with emergency call points. A sim card installed
within the lift will allow a call to dial out directly to our lift maintenance
contractor. They will answer your call and arrange for an engineer to
attend as an emergency to free you.
What should I do if I suspect a lift isn’t working properly?
Please contact us as soon as possible so we can arrange for our
servicing engineers to attend and assess the issue.
You can get in touch with us via telephone on 0113 200 7700 or
by emailing [email protected] to report the issue.
