Estate Action Days & Improvement Plans
Unity are committed to delivering a minimum of 4 Estate Action Days and 4 Estate Improvement plans annually. These days and plans come under Housing and Community services, rather than Repairs and Maintenance Services but staff from across the whole of Unity and anyone else who would like to can get involved.
What’s an Estate Action Day?
An estate Action day is when staff from Unity (and often our partners or volunteers) get together with tenants to make some quick on site fixes to estates or streets that we have property on. The action days are based on what Housing Officers and Tenants have identified as issues -typically fly tipping, graffiti, overgrown communal areas etc. When we’re not slinging debris into skips, we will be door knocking and asking tenants for their ideas for improvements and sharing what Unity can offer them.
It’s a great opportunity to meet Unity staff and put names-to-faces. If you see us on site, please pop out for a chat! If you would like to arrange an action day for your estate, speak to your housing officer.
What’s an Estate Improvement?
An ‘estate improvement’ is a long term solution or addition to your neighborhood or estate which multiple neighbors can benefit from. This might be the installation of planters, a bench, hand rails, new gates or a mural. If you have ideas for an estate improvement, speak to your housing officer.
