Our Vision

Mission

We will deliver:
Quality housing services, socio economic development and related neighbourhood services

To:
Our tenants, BME communities and neighbourhoods

Aimed at:
Providing choice, improved life opportunities and addressing inequalities

Objectives

  1. To provide high quality affordable housing services
We will deliver a range of flexible, high quality housing and related services which respond to the needs of our current customers and communities and the neighbourhoods in which they live. We will take account of emerging needs of new customers, communities and neighbourhoods and redesign our services accordingly.
  2. To provide training, employment and business support opportunities and services
Through our Unity Enterprise company we will offer affordable managed workspace to support the needs of a wide range of small businesses and other organisations. Linked to this and to our housing services we will work in partnership to deliver services to promote training and create increased employment and new business opportunities for local people.
  3. To continue to the regeneration of target neighbourhoods and continue to increase housing choice linked to the aspirations of BME communities
We will work in partnership to deliver social, economic and physical regeneration services to help create and sustain neighbourhoods where BME communities want to live. We will focus our efforts in these neighbourhoods where our tenants live and where there are high percentages of BME communities. Over and above that we will give priority to the Chapeltown area of Leeds. Our new housing development programme will support this activity as well as provide improved housing choices outside of the target areas.
  4. To fulfil a unique role as a BME housing association in Leeds
We will use our position to deliver services directly and also influence the policies and delivery of services by others in order to achieve our mission. We will represent our tenants and BME communities on specific evidenced based initiatives. We will seek to influence decisions and practise on housing and related neighbourhood services on behalf of BME communities at a local, sub regional, regional and national level.
  5. To be a progressive and expanding business with a sound resource base
We will be a strong, effective and forward looking organisation. Our governance and performance management arrangements will be of the highest standard and we will be a place where people want to work.
